I am in need of some positive body Image today. Since I love Pin Up Girl Clothing and Gia Genevieve, I thought I’d post something short and sweet to remind me that beauty is subjective. To me, Gia Genevieve has a fantastic hourglass figure, sex appeal and style. She’s gorgeous but she’s curvy, which to some is not as beautiful a rectangular body shape. Plus she has red hair.

What do you think of Gia Genevieve? And who’s your style icon?
Emma

She is gorgeous.
So gorgeous

I think this person looks terribly unhealthy, just with consideration of her weight. Of course, there exists extreme deception in pictures. My style crush is Sarah Jessica Parker, as Carrie Bradshaw… and as herself.
Sarah Jessica Parker always looks feminine and elegant
I disagree, she doesn’t look unhealthy to me. She has a different body shape than the one that you strive for xx
She’s incredibly gorgeous. All of those women from the pin-up era are, because they are so real. That’s what a woman is supposed to look like, you know? Toned, but with rounded features. Women are supposed to have a little extra padding for a number of reasons, most relating to offspring. First, it’s in case a woman gets pregnant during a time where food is scarce. That way, both the mother and the baby have a better chance of survival. In the days of ol’, a skinny woman was a sign of infertility, and a sure bet to a man that a family line would end with him.
Then, there’s the need for the baby’s nutrition. Women have the extra padding to provide nutrition for a baby during breastfeeding. Also, women have the extra padding to give their rations of food away to their family in times of crisis. They can survive longer than men on body fat, because their bodies burn less fat. Men need the nutrition to hunt, so they can have more nutrition. Women keep stores for that very reason.
And finally, women are supposed to be curvy because it’s just plain sexy. As my husband told me, “No man is inclined to marry the skinny girl.” Fertility is ingrained in us as a species, as discovered scientifically.
My style crush? Marilyn Monroe. Classically glamorous, sexy, and beautiful.
My love for Marilyn Monroe is never ending! Her sex appeal, her era, her style, gorgeous.
There is nothing wrong with a little extra padding! And it makes sense, for re-production purposes. Gia Genevieve has a ‘wow’ figure and teamed with the pin up look which celebrates curves is so beautiful! Jealous, totally jealous
xx
HOLY SHIT she is FABULOUS!!!! She owns her body, you can tell she loves the way she looks. And honestly, she’s probably within a perfectly healthy BMI range. I would not say she is overweight. Beautiful! SO many men prefer this look!
I’m sure she is in a healthy BMI range, i mean she has boobs and bum but there are no rolls of fat
xx
That’s what I’m saying! I wish I had boobs…(I DO have a nice bum though!)
I LOVE pinup style clothing! Wish I had the guts to pull it off! You cant just ‘do it’ once, it like… has to be your style all the way to really pull it off you know? I admire ayone who really does that! I admire anyone with a real ‘own’ style and always staying true to it though!!
Totally agree, it’s a hard style to pull off and you have to go for it!
xx
I think she is gorgeous and has a fantastic body!
Me too!
xx
Oh, she’s gorgeous!
I love girls with so much sense of fashion!
I’m recently obsessed with Mad Men and Johan Harris (played by Christina Hendricks) Hell she has a bigger body, but she carries it with so much pride and glamor – you can only admire her for being the way she is.
I’ve never watched Mad Men but i’ve heard a lot about Christina Hendricks and saw her in Drive. She has this confidence in her body which is enviable!
xx
She’s gorgeous, feminine, healthy and REAL. I love her
xxx
Totally agree
xx
Ugh, so…I am totally in love with that whole look and she looks amazeballs, BUT I have fat arms up the wazoo. I feel like those models always have naturally thinner arms, which makes me absurdly envious.
I might get the Christina Hendricks look from the neck down, but my arms will never be thin. I’m killing myself to just get a little tone!!
I know what you mean, i have bigger arms too and they are such a pain. Christina Hendricks from the neck down is not bad at all haha, hope things are going well
